At Federal Government College Warri, we were taught that our education wasn't just for ourselves, but for the service of others. As the "Legends" of the Class of 2006, we have spent the last two decades building careers, breaking barriers, and gaining invaluable wisdom.

Now, it is time to pass that torch.

We are thrilled to officially announce the start of our Structured Alumni Mentorship Program for 2026. This initiative is designed to bridge the gap between our seasoned professionals and the next generation of FGCW graduates who are ready to make their mark on the world.

Bridging the Gap: Experience Meets Ambition

The transition from the classroom to the boardroom can be daunting. Our program focuses on three high-impact sectors where the Class of 2006 has a massive footprint:

  • Tech: Navigating the world of software engineering, AI, product management, and startups.

  • Finance: Insights into investment banking, fintech, accounting, and wealth management.

  • Engineering: Guidance through civil, mechanical, petroleum, and electrical engineering career paths.

By pairing experienced '06 mentors with recent graduates, we aren't just giving advice—we are building a professional pipeline that ensures FGCW remains a dominant force in these industries.

Why Participate?

For Mentors: Leave a Legacy

You’ve reached the summit; now help someone else find the path. Being a mentor is a powerful way to give back, sharpen your own leadership skills, and stay connected to the fresh perspectives of the younger generation. Your "Legend" status is defined by the lives you lift as you climb.

For Mentees: Gain a Competitive Edge

Why navigate the professional world alone when you can have a "Big Brother" or "Big Sister" from the '06 Set in your corner? Get direct access to industry secrets, networking opportunities, and the kind of honest feedback you won’t find in a textbook.

How It Works

The 2026 program is structured to be flexible yet impactful:

  1. Matching: We use a specialized pairing process based on your specific sub-sector and career goals.

  2. Commitment: A 6-month structured journey with monthly check-ins (virtual or in-person).

  3. Resources: Both mentors and mentees will receive a "Mentorship Toolkit" to help guide the conversation and track progress.
